Christopher Columbus and his contemporaries didn’t just "discover" the New World and its riches, but they encountered varied cultures with foods that were commonplace over there, but completely unknown in Europe. When they brought some of those back with them, history was made. This talk will introduce you to the fascinating story of some of those crops that have made it onto our plates, and some others that are on the rise or have not even appeared on our radar just yet.
