Throughout its long and tumultuous history, Japanese culture has always been infused with deep introspection and efforts to bring meditative aspects to life, as expressed in a profound connection with the surrounding landscape and nature. This process has led to many amazing concepts related to how life is best lived, what joys can be found in the physical environment and how particular mindsets can help improve our experience of life in general.

In this talk, I will introduce a number of concepts that may just be the remedy to some of what we perceive as challenging in our modern Western lives. Don’t worry: this will not be limited to ikebana, origami and karaoke!
