We are pleased to be working with the Association of Chairs to offer this online session. Please ensure you read the course description, including aims and objectives prior to booking. Wednesday 27 November 12-1:30pm

Getting the right behaviours and dynamics on the board and between board members is an essential ingredient for successful organisations.  The Chair’s role in managing these dynamics is key as they have prime responsibility for ensuring the board has a productive culture.

This session will provide useful insight and advice on how to set the tone for the board, create expectations of appropriate trustee behaviours, build positive relationships, and manage difficult dynamics.

We will cover:

  • Creating a productive board culture so that all trustees are able to give their best for the benefit of the charity
  • Setting and managing expectations of trustee behaviours
  • Laying the foundations for better teamworking
  • Building 1 to 1 relationships with your trustees
  • Giving and receiving feedback
  • Useful tools and approaches when behaviours do not meet expectations
  • Managing difficult dynamics

This is a participatory training session and to ensure participants to feel able to ask questions and share experiences freely, this session will not be recorded.
