Bring some light into the winter gloom with these magical festive fabric lights. These easy and effective decorations combine a bit of painting and minimal sewing, so are suitable for all levels. A nice activity for your WI or craft group maybe?  You can use the templates and materials explained in the course notes to create the snowy village scenes, or adapt the idea to create your own version for any occasion.

With a wine glass or a jam jar as the base, the addition of mini battery powered fairy lights brings these festive makes safely to life. Add a simple twine or wire handle to the jam jar to make the perfect lantern to take out carol singing.

I have used a product called Lutradur as the background fabric for my lights (very useful for all kinds of textile projects), but you can use any non-woven fabric such as firm interfacing instead.

You can either sit back and watch the demonstration or craft-along. If you do intend to craft-along, please ensure you have all of your materials ready to go.

Instructions and Zoom log in details will be included at the bottom of your confirmation email after you have registered.
