Wrap it up in style this Spring, with a choice of gorgeous re-usable fabric gift bags. The session will include a fold over top bag, a fabric money envelope and a fabulous bottle bag with optional flower detail. Using just the straight stitch on your sewing machine, the handy bag-making techniques that this session will cover include making bags with linings, adding button and loop style closures and creating flat bases.

Bottle bag (to fit a standard sized wine bottle, finished size approx. 33cm x 14cm)

  • 2 pieces of outer fabric each 37cm x 15cm. Ideally a medium weight cotton.
  • 2 pieces of contrasting lining fabric each 40cm x 15cm. This can be a medium-light weight. NOTE: The lining is deliberately cut 3cm longer than the outer for this design.
  • 50cm of 25mm (1”) wide ribbon or tape for the handles, cut in half to make two equal lengths.

  • Optional: Felt and fabric scraps, a small piece of Bondaweb and a button to make the flower.

Fold-top gift bag (finished size with top folded down 25cm high x 23cm wide)
