With so many films available on platforms like iPlayer, ITVX, Netflix, Amazon, and Sky, finding a good movie can feel overwhelming. To help you skip the indecision, join us at the WI Film Club – Beyond the Screen! Join our host Vicky for an engaging discussion about the story and themes of the film in a friendly and supportive online session. This could even inspire you to start your own film club within your WI.

This month we have opted for Sound of Metal - a 2019 American drama starring Riz Ahmed as Ruben, a drummer who loses his hearing.

He grapples with overwhelming fear and bitter denial. Reluctantly, he finds himself drawn into a close-knit deaf community led by Joe, a compassionate Vietnam War veteran. Once, music was his entire world. Can Ruben find a way to accept his new reality and thrive in a world without sound?

WI Film Club sessions will take place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month and films are selected to encourage discussions on a wide variety of topics which will sometimes tie in with campaigns and notable events.
