This session is provided for Federation and WI committee members and trustees, and WI Advisers. Please note this training is offered as part of NFWI's commitment to supporting federations and WIs. Places on the course are limited and we ask that you are committed to attending prior to booking. If you have attended a training session covering this topic in the last two years please consider allowing others to attend this session. We are pleased to be working with Enhance the UK to offer this online session. Please ensure you read the course description, including aims and objectives prior to booking. The partner trainers we are working with are experts in their field and, while they have been briefed on the structure of the WI, this session will not be WI specific.

Our half day disability awareness training sessions are led by disabled trainers who share their expert knowledge and lived experience. Training is interactive and breaks are provided. We introduce different impairment types including hearing impairments, visual impairments, communication impairments, physical impairments, non-visible impairments and neurodiversity. The Trainer - Jennie Williams:
Jennie Williams is the founder and CEO of Enhance the UK. She has worked with a wide range of Deaf and disabled people over the last 20 years, including people with learning difficulties and mental health issues. She has a level three qualification in British Sign Language and a great understanding for the deaf community as she herself has hereditary degenerative hearing loss and is a hearing aid user. Jennie has worked for a number of charities including MSSA Nurse World Wide in Sydney and Perth Australia, Turning Point, Graeae Theatre Company and Leonard Cheshire Disability.
