Welcome to the WI Safeguarding Training for FSOs.
This course is primarily aimed at WI members undertaking the role of Safeguarding Officer for their federation. Please note, in order to carry out the role of a Federation Safeguarding Officer role you must have been elected by your federation. However, the training is open to all WI members.
This course covers safeguarding in the WI, from recognising and responding to concerns to understanding legislation and member responsibilities. It also explores the Federation Safeguarding Officer’s role, including managing complex cases, maintaining boundaries, and working with the NSO and external agencies for safe, effective practice.

The training is split into 2 modules:
- An Introduction to Safeguarding in the WI
- Advanced Safeguarding Practice for FSOs
At the end of each module, you will need to complete a short test consisting of 5 questions. Upon successful completion of both modules, you will be able to download your certificate immediately upon successful completion.
Course duration : approximately 1.25 hours.
There is additional reading to undertake which will vary depending on the individual.
