Loneliness and social isolation are year-round problems but winter – and Christmas especially – can be particularly tough. With 1 million older people* feeling more isolated at Christmas than any other time of the year, the need for supportive, uplifting spaces has never been greater. The aim of this campaign is to raise funds to help the Denman Trust to continue providing access to quality online learning opportunities on the WI Learning Hub throughout the Christmas and New Year period. Whilst Christmas can be a time of joy for many, the season can also bring feelings of isolation, overwhelm, or a need for meaningful focus. However, maintaining and running the Learning Hub over this period comes with ongoing costs. This campaign allows us to sustain those operations and keep learning available for everyone who needs it.
