The Scottish poet Douglas Dunn, born in 1942, has numerous published works – collections of his own poetry and short stories, edited anthologies of the work of others, and many incisive critical essays and writings.  His Elegies, published as a short volume in 1985, document in poetry his reflections to the death of his first wife in March 1981.  Sharply observed, eloquently expressed, and often raw in their portrayal of grief, these poems offer a unique and intimate insight into the process of mourning.  In this talk, Simon will explore some of the poems, and examine the ways in which they express poignant emotions with such power and unfiltered honesty.

Zoom recording link to view this session will be included at the bottom of your confirmation email after you have registered.
