With so many films available on platforms like iPlayer, ITVX, Netflix, Amazon, and Sky, finding a good movie can feel overwhelming. To help you skip the indecision, join us at the WI Film Club – Beyond the Screen! Join our host Vicky for an engaging discussion about the story and themes of the film in a friendly and supportive online session. This could even inspire you to start your own film club within your WI.

We thought we would start out this year with a feel good film and saw that Slumdog Millionaire was available and thought this was the perfect for January!

Danny Boyle's multi-Oscar-winning drama starring Dev Patel, Freida Pinto and Saurabh Shukla. A teenager who is a lowly tea-seller is about to win a vast fortune on an Indian TV game show when he's accused of cheating and arrested. Can he prove his innocence?

WI Film Club sessions will take place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month and films are selected to encourage discussions on a wide variety of topics which will sometimes tie in with campaigns and notable events.
