Please note, this session has been recorded from a live course and is available to watch flexibly in your own time up to 11:59pm on 13th May.
Mountmellick embroidery, also known as Mountmellick work, is a traditional whitework technique that originated in the early 19th century in Mountmellick, County Laois, Ireland.
The embroidery is always worked on white fabric, using a range of white threads. The contrast in thread textures bring out the detail in the embroidery.
During this workshop you will learn a simple history of Mountmellick, how to use the different threads to gain interesting effects as well as create your own simple piece of Mountmellick embroidery.
Zoom recording link to view this session will be included at the bottom of your confirmation email after you have registered
