The WI has an outstanding reputation for supporting members’ during times of change and uncertainty; the positive, motivational, and inspirational ways in which members support one-another, both within their WIs and with fellow members across the country is inspiring and empowering.  In recognition and support of this, the WI Learning Hub is proud to offer members access to the Me, Myself & WI programme from 12th May to 16th May. 

Have you ever dreamed of stepping into your garden or going out to your kitchen windowsill and picking fresh basil for your pasta, mint for your tea, or rosemary for your roast? Now you can make that dream a reality - no matter your space, skill level, or schedule!

 You are invited to an inspiring and practical talk on growing your own herbs, by Lynda Warren, an enthusiastic herbalist and gardener with a passion for helping people cultivate health, flavour, and beauty right at home. Whether you have a sprawling garden or just a sunny windowsill, are a total beginner or a seasoned plant lover, you’ll walk away with the confidence and know-how to start (or expand) your very own herb garden.

We will explore:

• What is a herb and why should we grow them?
• What are some of the terms used and what tools do I need?
• How do I grow herbs from seeds and plug plants?
• How can I get herbs for free?
• How do I plant a herb container?
• How do I care for my herbs?
