Anthropology, the scientific study of humanity, has long looked at the behaviour, culture and society, often remote tribes in far flung places. As the world has seemingly grown smaller, many anthropologists now choose to spend time studying human behaviour in the world of videos games and social media, discovering tribes and cultures in the digital landscape.

From the first anthropologist in the 1980s who studied how research scientists tried (and failed) to use the photocopier at Xerox Parc, to the one who spent a year undercover in the World of Warcraft in 2015, we will explore the world of digital anthropology.
