Host: Simon Gregor
Success in the War of 1812 conferred a new burst of energy and dynamism to the United States, and ushered in an era of economic and industrial growth. As the population spread ever westwards, new infrastructure was needed to support this - and so roads, river navigations and canals, and in due time the railroads started to become part of the American landscape. Join Simon for an exploration of the United States as it starts to set course for becoming the industrial superpower it will eventually evolve into.
