Follow the history of the ‘Spice Trail’ with hints and tips on the uses of the spices that have always cast a spell on our imaginations.   This talk covers the earliest use of spices, then goes on to follow the spice trail of the Arab merchants and many other traders who developed the routes to bring spices to Europe, with featured spices and hints and tips on their uses. 

This talk includes understanding spice profiles and spice blends as well as background on, and uses of pepper, ginger, nutmeg, mustard seeds, cardamom, chili, cinnamon, coriander, cumin and turmeric.  If you are wondering, sugar was once considered a spice!
