Celebrating Connection, Support, and Belonging

Every May since 2001, the Mental Health Foundation has united people across the UK for Mental Health Awareness Week – a time dedicated to focusing on achieving and maintaining good mental health. The WI Learning Hub is delighted to be supporting the Mental Health Foundation for Mental Health Awareness Week 2025, championing this year’s powerful theme: community.

In recognition and support of this, the WI Learning Hub is proud to offer members access to the Me, Myself & WI programme between 12th May – 16th May.  Whether you have just a few minutes or want to dive deeper, there’s something for everyone in our collection below – from our full line-up of special live courses, to a free downloadable meeting pack for your WI.

The digital world has revolutionised how we build meaningful connections, proving that community can flourish beyond physical spaces. Online communities offer unique mental health benefits – they provide accessible support regardless of geographic location, mobility challenges, or time constraints. They create safe spaces where people can express themselves authentically, find others with shared experiences, and develop supportive relationships that combat isolation. Research shows these virtual connections can be just as meaningful as in-person ones, offering emotional support, knowledge sharing, and a sense of belonging that strengthens mental resilience.

The WI Learning Hub exemplifies these benefits, opening its virtual doors to everyone, not just WI members. This inclusive approach has created a vibrant, diverse community where participants regularly form friendships that extend beyond classes. Our course Hosts play a crucial role in nurturing this environment – like Felicity, who painted this beautiful Me, Myself & WI artwork to celebrate our community. These dedicated Hosts don’t just teach skills; they create spaces where people feel welcome, valued, and connected. From craft sessions to educational talks, each class becomes a micro-community where participants support each other’s wellbeing through shared learning and genuine connection.
