Welcome to the Federation Trustee training. This e-learning is a mandatory part of the Federation Trustee role and is delivered as part of NFWI’s commitment to working in partnership with federations and providing support and guidance throughout the National Federation.
This course is designed to give you confidence in your role, show you where to find support, and ensure your experience as a trustee is a rewarding one. By completing this course, you’ll gain a clear understanding of the legal and technical requirements of your trustee role, which helps protect both you and your federation board.
As a trustee, you carry the important responsibility of overseeing your federation’s management and long-term growth. This training is here to help you feel confident in these key responsibilities.
Completion of this course will also:
- Enable federations to ensure that they maintain their internal training records and support the identification of future training needs to inform discussions with the NFWI.
- Ensure that the federation is able to evidence that all of their trustees have undertaken Trustee Training and are aware of the roles and responsibilities, should your regulator or another legal body require evidence of this.
Please note, in order to carry out the role of a Federation Trustee you must have been elected by your federation. However, the training is open to all WI members and may aide federations in the recruitment of new trustees.
Additional online training courses are also available throughout the year to support those in key federation and WI roles. For example; Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Training, Conflict Management Training, Disability Awareness Training and Communication Skills Training. These are bookable via the Business & Training page of the WI Learning Hub website. The programme is added to regularly and federations are informed when new sessions are available.
For further trustee training, please see the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. We have a step-by-step guide for accessing this training package in the Federation Roles Resources section on the WI Learning Hub.
